TEMPORARY MAINTENANCE LABORER
Baranof Island Housing Authority is seeking two (2) maintenance laborers for a full-time, non-permanent position for the next twelve months. Responsibilities include all maintenance duties of BIHA owned properties. Experience with building maintenance and home repair required. One year of technical or formal maintenance training/education in related fields, two years experience in building construction, property maintenance, or related field.

Temporary Full-time, Hourly, non-benefitted located in Sitka, AK. Perform receptionist duties, answering and routing telephone calls; meeting the public seeking BIHA assistance or inquiring services.
Requirements: Strong written and oral communication skills, knowledge of standard
office procedures, including effective operation of office equipment. Receive & distribute mail & packages as necessary. Implement COVID-19 related duties as assigned. Experience using
Microsoft Word and Adobe DC. Must possess valid Alaska driver’s license, mandatory drug
screening prior to hire, initial and regular COVID-19 testing and subject to criminal background check. Must be able to work from home if required.

Full time, benefited position (Medical, Dental, & PERS) located in Sitka, Alaska. The Executive Director plans and manages the programs and operations of Baranof Island Housing Authority. Works closely with the Board of Commissioners and staff to develop policies and procedures to provide grant funded affordable housing. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public administration, construction or related field. Six Years of progressively responsible experience in relevant administrative or management positions including two years of experience in leading a similarly sized public or non-profit organization. Additional years of relevant administrative or management position experience may be substituted for the public or non-profit organization experience. Knowledge of construction contracting procedures and contract administration and specific experience in construction and/or housing maintenance. Salary: DOE. Indian/Tribal preference applies.
